Professor Karl T. Muth: AI in New Ventures, September, 2024
Join us for an in-person event with Professor Karl T. Muth, an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at Booth School of Business and an Adjunct Professor of Law at Pritzker School of Law. Professor Muth brings a wealth of experience in AI and entrepreneurship, including founding the AI-driven insurance underwriting company Arturo.ai and developing early chatbot and adaptive search technologies. His talk will focus on the technological innovations of Arturo.ai and provide practical knowledge on AI's impact in the insurance industry. We are excited to introduce a brand-new MSL class this fall, the AI Innovation Lab, led by Professor David Zaretsky. As the CEO, Chief Scientist, and Founder of Snips Media, and the Assistant Chair & Associate Professor of the ECE Department at Northwestern University, Professor Zaretsky is well-equipped to guide us through the intersection of AI technologies and business. This course, developed in collaboration with the MSL team, marks a significant milestone for NLDS and the Pritzker School of Law, representing our commitment to practical, cutting-edge education in AI and entrepreneurship.
Mr. Jerry Ma: AI in Intellectual Property, October, 2024
We are honored to welcome Mr. Jerry Ma, the Director of Emerging Technology & Chief AI Officer at the USPTO, and Technology Director of the Journal of the Patent and Trademark Office Society. Mr. Ma will join us in person to discuss AI in IP-related topics. His extensive portfolio includes advancing the USPTO’s mandate to promote scientific progress and economic growth globally through emerging technology policy, research, and outreach. His talk will cover AI’s role in transforming patent and trademark processes, the impact of emerging technologies on IP law, and future trends and challenges in the field.
