On April 12th, 2024, legal and tech enthusiasts gathered virtually for the NLDS' AI + Law Series Event, a panel discussion that delved into the fascinating intersection of artificial intelligence and the legal industry. The event featured thought-provoking discussions, insightful presentations, and innovative ideas that shed light on the role of AI in the field of law.

The Panel Recap

The afternoon kicked off at 12:00 pm, with attendees enjoying an array of refreshments from Nando’s and bubble tea—a perfect start to fuel the engaging discussions that followed.

We were honored to have three esteemed speakers who provided deep insights into the implications of AI in law:

Prof. Mohammed A. Alam tackled the topic "The Debate on LLMs: Marvel or Myth?", where he demystified the capabilities and limitations of Large Language Models (LLMs) in today’s legal practices.

Prof. Jorge Sanz delved into "Regulatory Frontiers: Navigating the Legal Complexities of Generative AI", highlighting the evolving regulatory landscape that professionals must navigate.

Prof. David Zaretsky, PhD rounded out the sessions with "Navigating the Future of AI Innovation", discussing the prospective advancements and ethical considerations in AI.
