Eligibility
- Executive Board & Liaison Committee
Open to all Northwestern Law students from MSL, LLM, JD, JD/MBA, and JD/PhD programs.
Executive Board members would be selected in Spring each year. Student representatives of the Liaison Committee would be selected in Fall each year.
- General Membership
No need to apply - Open to students and professionals worldwide. Follow us on social media (LinkedIn page & group, Groupme groupchat, Instagram, X (Twitter), and Facebook) to stay informed about our latest events and activities!
- Advisory Committee
Open to students and professionals worldwide. Student advisors, Faculty advisors, and Industry advisors will be appointed by the Board.
Board Duties (7 Roles)
- President
1. Lead the organization and oversee all activities.
2. Represent NLDS in meetings and events.
3. Work closely with the board and advisors to set strategic goals.
- Vice President - Internal Operations
1. Assist the President in managing the organization.
2. Coordinate the planning and execution of events and activities.
3. Oversee the logistics of events, including inviting and coordinating speakers.
4. Ensure compliance with Northwestern University policies.
5. Step in for the President when necessary.
- Vice President - External Relations
1. Assist the President in developing and achieving strategic goals.
2. Manage outreach and maintain relationships with other student organizations, programs, and companies.
3. Coordinate efforts to secure sponsorships and funding for NLDS.
4. Foster partnerships with industry professionals and external entities.
5. Ensure representation of all program interests at Board meetings.
- Treasurer
1. Manage NLDS finances, including budgeting and financial planning.
2. Oversee funding and sponsorship efforts.
3. Ensure transparent and accurate financial reporting.
- Secretary
1. Maintain records of meetings and activities.
2. Handle correspondence and communication within the organization.
3. Assist with event planning and coordination.
- Director of Events
1. Plan and organize NLDS events, including speaker sessions, workshops, and panel discussions.
2. Work with the Director of Communications to promote events.
3. Ensure successful execution of events.
- Director of Communications
1. Manage NLDS social media and marketing efforts.
2. Develop and implement communication strategies.
3. Oversee public relations and outreach activities.
